My husband's cousin's baby has had a lot of ups and downs in the last few days. She was able to maintain her heartbeat on Tuesday without the berlin heart machine, so yesterday it was removed. This was a great step forward, and she had a stable 4th of July. But today has been a very hard day for her. She stopped producing urine and her heart gave out from the fluid overload. Therefore, she was put back on ECMO. It appeared to be a stable situation for a little while. However, the family has just learned that some of her other organs are very sick/shutting down, and the doctors now think she has a major infection that her body is having a hard time fighting. They have told her parents to be prepared. I have come to love this child as I've followed her story, though I have never met her. I have not yet given up hope, and I would ask for your continued prayers. Her parents are Amanda and Travis and her 2 1/2 year old brother is named Davis. Please remember all of them in this very difficult time.
